Discovered by the Romans, conquered by the Moors and with close ties to Valencia and Catalonia, the largest of the Balearic Isles is steeped in history and culinary tradition. Beyond the tourist attractions and sprawling beaches, the richness and charm of its cuisine, culture and people remain. A delightful tangle of winding roads trace the contours of the coastline, from quaint coves and secluded bays through cobbled streets and citrus orchards, to the craggy mountains of the Serra de Tramuntana. For cyclists, Mallorca has become an all year round training paradise. The iconic rides to Puig Major, Sa Calobra and the Cap de Formentor are unmissable, but be sure to experience the lesser known routes through hilltop towns and honey-stone villages, down to secluded beaches and pine-flecked bays.
Day 1: Arrive in Mallorca
We recommend a morning flight to Palma. After flying to Palma airport you will be transferred to Port Pollensa, your base for your stay. You will have time to build your bike (or pick up your hire bike) and grab some lunch (we recomend Tollos). In the afternoon you will have time to do the lighthouse run.
Day 2: Sa Calobra
No trip to Mallorca is the same without taking on the Sa Calobra. The Sa Calobra is the climb that made Mallorca famous. Also known as the Serpent due to it's unique road layout, it was the training ground of choice for Bradley Wiggins and most other pros still test themselves on it during the winter months.
Day 3: Soller and the Col de Soller
Today's ride, you will ride over to the beautiful town of Soller via the Col d'Orient and loop back over Puig Major. Puig Major is the highest point on the Island of Mallorca that you can cycle too. Follow the Ma-10 from Port de Pollensa or Soller, and the Monnaber tunnel marks the end of the climb from both directions. The views over the Gorg Blau from the Northern side of the tunnel are stunning and it is well worth stopping to take a photo!
Day 4: Departure day
There is one final cafe run round the lanes of Mallorca before we transfer you back to the airport. We recommend you get an afternoon or evening flight. If you want to extend this trip, this is possible.
