Overview

Want more?

Over the last 10 years, the Yorkshire Dales has become the must ride road cycling destination in the UK.

In 2014 the Dales hosted the Grand Depart of the Tour de France, with stage 1 riding the famous climbs, Col du Buttertubs, and Grinton Moor finishing in the spa town of Harrogate.

Harrogate then hosted the 2019 Road World Championships for a full week of cycling around the Yorkshire Dales and Nidderdale AONB.

Now is your chance to visit Yorkshire and ride some of these world class cycling routes. You will also be based for the weekend in the beautiful spa town of Harrogate, and when not on the bike will be located perfectly to enjoy the amazing cycle cafes, craft beer brewery's and top rated restaurants.

What's the plan

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Yorkshire

Arrive in Harrogate, slightly south east of the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the Nidderdale AONB, which will be your base for your stay. We suggest a quick warm up ride to locally to Harrogate and over the nearby hills, including the route that was used for the 2019 Road World Championships.

Day 2:

Here is an example route of what can be ridden on our Yorkshire Dales Cycle Holiday. All routes can be tailor-made depending on what mileage and elevation you would like to do.

Day 3:

A visit to the Yorkshire Dales would not be complete without climbing the famous Buttertubs Pass and Grinton Moor, both of which featured in the 2014 Tour de France. Contact us today to learn more about these climbs and organise a trip to cycle the Yorkshire Dales.

Day 4: Departure day

There is time for one final cafe run round the Yorkshire Dales. If you would like an extra night this can be arranged, just contact us below.
